All our drivers, regardless of their background, undergo a full licence check and competency assessment before commencing employment with us. Where required, we place a new driver under instruction with our clients driver trainers, or with one of our own fully qualified staff to learn all aspects of the job which the driver will be expected to do. This can often encompass a full driver assessment as part of the process. Only when the new driver is assessed as fully competent will he or she be permitted to carry our work on behalf of the individual client. This process is followed with each new client the driver is chosen to work with.
By using this method, the driver steadily builds up his or her portfolio of clients worked for and this is administered via our advanced CRM system at Yeovil.
For more specialised work such as farm collections or roll on – roll off, the driver is embedded into the clients’ organisation and follows all such training that is necessary for him or her to be classed as ‘fully proficient’. Where the work involves the use of Hi-ab cranes or Forklifts, we only place NVQ or CITB qualified personnel on those tasks.
